Hello, friend.

I know this is my second grape recipe in a row. Don’t patronize me! Times are hard and utterly arduous as a college student. Though in all honesty, I had extra grapes stored tightly in an empty yogurt container in my freezer. I take what I can get. Soooo, it’s Thanksgiving time! I, like every other food blogger on the interweb, LOVE the holidays. There is something completely mesmerizing about the art of gathering around a big table, surrounded by the warmth of food, and having the air filled with light-hearted conversation between loved ones. The act of bringing people together is what I cherish most about this time of year. That, and the insane amount of food

Hello, friend.

So. Two immensely exciting things have happened since we last talked. Firstly, I finally got moved into my new apartment. Oh yeah! I never knew that moving from one place to another would be such a strenuous adventure. With days of tireless planning, countless trips to Wal-Mart, and all the while taking moments out of my hectic schedule to mentally decompress and take it all in, I somehow made it through without a hitch. Quickly as the day came, it went. The apartment was set, and every box unloaded. Jon and my parents said their goodbyes and closed the door behind them as I was left alone. Solitude. Soon the realization that I was living on my own for the first time had ultimately set in. It was a strange mixture of joy and fear. To combat the uncertainty within myself, I decided to celebrate my new found adult state with yogurt topped with sliced peaches, chia seeds, and a drizzle of honey. Unfortunately, I was without an Internet connection for most of the weekend and into the early week. So I spent my time driving around campus, walking downtown, perusing through antique bookstores, having a mid-afternoon iced latte at a quirky cafĂ©, and working on the blog, which brings me to my second point.

Hello friend

It’s been a while since I sat down and wrote up a post hasn’t it? Fear not, I have a reason for my minor absence. I've been fairly busy as of lately. I recently finished up an article for the Kitchen Journals on Raspberries and celebrated the fourth of July with the family. Summer months are supposed to be made up of BBQ’s, carnival rides, senseless debauchery, and late night music in the parks. My summer has been far from that. I’ve been in an avid growth mode. My days have been spent cleaning, organizing for my new apartment, recipe developing, and website tweaking. I’ve been frivolously replying to emails, meeting with clients, updating the blog, and being on the phone until one AM with Yahoo tech support over domain issues. My summer has been spent tirelessly scrolling through page after page of analytics, searching for that sense of hidden truth, the niche I need to take my blog to the next level. A few months back I sat down and took a real hard look at myself in mirror and asked myself;

“What am I doing?”
